Meet the Director: Michael Moore

Michael Moore Michael and Jean Moore began as co-directors of Wanakee in November of 2005 and served together until Jean's death February 25, 2010 following a long, valiant, and difficult struggle with leukemia.

Mike and Jean are no strangers to the ministries at Wanakee. "Combined we have over thirty years of Wanakee involvement," they write. "Both of us have been campers and summer staff and have served as volunteers throughout the years." Jean is a former chairperson of the Wanakee Board, and Michael is a former member of the Finance Committee for Wanakee. "We are blessed to be a part of camp and to be able to share in the development of campers' faith."

Michael is a graduate of Plymouth State University and has taught English on the elementary and secondary levels. When he is not busy around camp or playing Lego's with his three children, Michael enjoys hiking and writing.
