Summer Staff Positions and Duties

counselors and campers play leapfrog in the fieldWe seek staff who are active followers of Jesus with involvement in a local church. Each staff member is primarily concerned for camper care, safety and spiritual life. Considering this, all staff can expect to be asked to perform duties not under their specific job responsibilities. Teamwork and flexibility are essential. Full-time summer staff must be at least 18 years old.

Camp sessions last one week for campers ages 4-18. Our unique program is small-group based, therefore relationships grow deep and life changes occur often. The primary goal is building Christian community where the Gospel of Jesus Christ is shared.

Schedule: Staff Training begins mid-June for 11 days. The camp season consists of eight one-week sessions. Camp ends in late August with "Close camp days."

Weekly assignments depend upon individual camp session needs. Counselors receive breaks by rotating into support positions. Staff receive 24 hours off each week.

Benefits: training, lodging, meals, staff shirt, laundry, First Aid, CPR. Some receive life-guard or ropes training. Ask us how camp builds your résumé better than almost any other summer job.

Salaries for summer staff range from a $1,600 base for 1 year college to $2,500 depending on position/training. Returning staff receive a bonus. Since basic needs are provided with little time to spend money, most staff save more of what they earn compared with friends in other jobs.
