Join us for the annual Wanakee Wilderness 5K (WW5K) cross country race & walk as it wanders through the wooded hiking trails of Wanakee!
Race Day Registration & Check-in: 7:30-9:00am
Race Start: 9:15am
The course takes you from lake level on a winding climb up 300 feet in elevation to Lookout Point, one of the Wanakee peaks. You than traverse a saddle to the second peak by The Lemon Squeeze. From there it is a dash back down the hill to the log cabin retreat and the perimeter trail back to the main camp. The last portion of the course takes you by the camp waterfront before crossing the finish line.
Proceeds of the race go directly to our facility major improvements project to update and expand our camper capacity and facilities.
After the race, stay for the annual Homecoming.

Walk down to the waterfront or Inspiration Point, or hike up to Lookout and enjoy the warm summer sun. Spend time doing the things you love to do (knit, crochet, read a book, or play games) as you reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and take a break from the pressures of everyday life.
In order to ensure that we are doing all that we can to prevent covid-19 we require participants to show proof of full vaccination (at least 2 weeks out from a second dose of Moderna or Pfizer or one dose of Johnson and Johnson). If you are eligible for a booster we recommend that you are also boosted prior to the event.
If you are not vaccinated you will need to be tested no more than 72 hours prior to arrival. You can have a test done at a pharmacy or another testing center or take a home test and take a picture of the negative results.
We will not be collecting this information ahead of time but ask that you bring proof of either when you arrive for the event.
Please note: We anticipate Wild Wanakee Women being a "full" event. If you need to cancel for any reason, please note that payments will be non-refundable after Friday 1/13.

Meet our dedicated summer staff and tour camp facilities such as the ropes course, overnight cabins, dining hall and swim area. A wonderful way for new campers and their parents to learn about camp life. Camp tours are from 10am-2pm - drop in anytime.
Have fun exploring Wanakee at our annual free day of camp. Great for first time campers-have fun swimming and playing games, get creative in the craft zone, explore trails and nature, enjoy lunch and songs in the dining hall. This is a great opportunity for your camper to experience Wanakee for the first time (or the tenth time), meet the 2020 staff, and just have a fun day outdoors with friends new and old.
Please register your camper (ages 4-12) in advance and we’ll see you in late June!

Sunday, January 12, 2020 - 5:00pm to 7:00pm
Join us for an evening of fellowship at Wanakee Campfire Connections, a gathering of camp-style community, open to all.
The evening will start at 5:00 PM with pizza and fellowship. Churchgoers, Wanakee enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to share in fellowship with kindred spirits who find meaning in the profound moments and conversations that happen so readily around a campfire are welcome.
After the informal meal, we will move on to a worship based in conversation. We’ll sing some favorite fireside songs and discuss relevant topics of faith and spirituality. Our time together will close with communion. Plan to leave by 7:00 PM, recharged and ready for the week ahead.
Leadership for this event provided by the Rev. Phil Polhemus and members of Wanakee's Program Committee, including Mara Bovee, Meg Battersby, Ross Ewing, and Hannah Cote.
