Apple Butter Family Fun Day Postponed to October 24

Due to the incoming Nor’easter, including predicted all-day rain and high wind speeds, we have made the difficult decision to postpone Apple Butter Family Fun Day.

While we are disappointed not to gather this weekend, we are looking forward to welcoming families, alumni, friends, and community members to camp on Saturday, October 24 instead. The event will take place alongside Wanakee’s Fall Work Day, but there is no expectation that Apple Butter guests to participate in work projects--unless you'd like to! You are welcome to come simply to enjoy the day, spend time at camp, and join in the fall fun.

We are especially grateful to the wonderful volunteers who helped prepare apples for this event. We still plan to cook apple butter over the fire and send folks home with a jar in exchange for a donation of any size.

There will also be pumpkin painting, games, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy camp in the fall. Join us for lunch at noon or wait until the batch comes off the fire to fill up on warm biscuits and fresh apple butter.

We hope to see you around the campfire next month!
