Welcome to Wanakee!
Celebrating 54 years of ministry in 2015!
Wanakee United Methodist Center is nestled in the hills of central New Hampshire, along the shore of Lake Pemigewasset, in the town of Meredith.
We are a Christian Adventure camp and retreat center providing an eight week summer camping program to children and youth (4-18 yrs). Our emphasis is small groups designed to further growth in mind, body, soul and strength.

Our rural location and 227 acres of forest, fields, shorefront and miles of winding stone walls provide the perfect place to retreat to and enjoy all that camping has to offer: wake up to singing birds and fall asleep to the hoot of an owl.
You can sit with your group at Inspiration Point and watch the sunset over the lake as a loon calls to its chick. There are great discussions around the evening campfire as you toast marshmallows. Challenge yourself on the high ropes course or climbing our 32 foot climbing wall.
Wanakee's summer program offers a wide variety of camping experiences designed to build relationships with each other and with our God.
Over 700 campers learn and study scripture, live in a Christian community, have fun, swim in a spring-fed lake, enjoy the best food, and make friends that will last a lifetime.
A staff of 25 summer employees and over 90 volunteers make this ministry possible.
Our lifeguards and adventure programmers are fully certified and have many years of camping experience.
You may contact us if you are interested in volunteering or applying for a paid position.
Our Homestead Retreat, a modern log cabin, hosts our year-round retreat program. There are retreat possibilities for youth, adult, family or ski groups. During the summer we offer Volunteer-In-Mission program for church groups.
